          Advocate Robert Francis D’Alessandro is a Maltese national and resident; holding law degrees from the University of Malta (LLD), and post-graduate degrees in Maritime law from the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (Maritime Law) and International law from the University of Oxford. Becoming a warranted member of the Malta Chamber of Advocates in 1994, and fluent in Maltese, English, Italian, and French; Rob apprenticed with leading law firms in Malta, Budapest, London and Amsterdam; before establishing his own Malta based practice in corporate, and multi-jurisdictional contracts.

          In 2001 he founded a platform of independent experts (CREDAL network) enabling the focused collaboration of lawyers, finance, company and trust managers and investment consultants as multidisciplinary client and project teams. As a long-standing member of the Malta Bar, Institute of Financial Services Practitioners; and Institute of Directors and duly authorised Money Laundering Reporting Officer (since 2016) he has significant experience in planning and managing multi-jurisdictional transactions and contracts regarding start-ups, corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, IP and asset securitization, governance and compliance.

 

International & GGI Focus

          Since 2004 he has headed the Malta representation of Geneva Group International (ggi.com), which as the leading global alliance of independent professional firms has involved Rob and his team in several international transactions. Apart from being an executive committee member from 2010-2018, in 2014 as founder and managing partner; he had the honour of receiving the GGI excellency award for the firm’s ten-year membership. As part of his governance work he acts as a director on a diverse range of international client business.
